Hidden in the center of Madrid, this beautiful Palace was built in the early 17th Century by the Marquis of Villafranca, Don Pedro Álvarez de Toledo. Its corners speak of History, of distinguished guests and unique moments.
This wonderful Palace was one of the principal residences of the well-known Duarte, who not only was one of the great decorators, but also one of the biggest cultural animators of the second half of the 20th Century in Spain. He provided imagination, glamour, fantasy and beauty to a depressing and grey Spain. Pilar González de Gregorio used to see him like “the perfect host”. She says that many famous people used to go to his parties; Salvador Dalí, Ava Gardner, Truman Capote, Henry Kissinger and Maria Callas are only some of the celebrities that have been invited to this property.
